Acceptable Use Policy
What Nuculair may and may not be used for, how we enforce it, and how to report misuse.
Nuculair is built for people who sign their name to their findings: due-diligence and OSINT firms, corporate security and fraud teams, trust and safety teams, and journalists. This policy sets out what that means in practice. It forms part of our Terms of Use.
Legitimate purposes
Every case must have a lawful, legitimate purpose that you can explain. Examples include:
- due diligence on counterparties, vendors, investors or acquisition targets;
- investigating fraud, insider threats or security incidents affecting your organization;
- trust and safety work on your own platform;
- public-interest journalism and research;
- checking your own digital footprint, or someone else's with their consent.
What you may not do
You may not use Nuculair to:
- stalk, harass, threaten or intimidate anyone, or to locate a person who doesn't want to be found, including in domestic or relationship disputes;
- dox anyone, or publish personal information to expose them to harm;
- make decisions about employment, credit, housing, tenancy or insurance, or for any purpose covered by the U.S. Fair Credit Reporting Act;
- investigate minors, except in narrow, lawful safeguarding work by authorized organizations;
- infer or target sensitive characteristics, such as politics, religion, sexuality, health, ethnicity or immigration status;
- identify confidential sources, whistleblowers or anonymous critics in order to retaliate against them;
- discriminate against anyone, or carry out unlawful surveillance;
- resell, publish in bulk or build a database of the information Nuculair collects;
- circumvent privacy tiers, rate limits, verification or other safeguards, or access Nuculair by automated means other than our API;
- break the law, including privacy, anti-spam, computer misuse and intellectual property laws.
Public figures
Investigating public figures is allowed where it concerns their public role. Leave their families, home addresses and private lives out of it unless there is a clear public interest and a lawful basis.
Safeguards built into Nuculair
- You confirm the purpose and the Fair Credit Reporting Act restriction at the start of every case.
- Paid plans require identity verification, and usage is rate-limited.
- Steps that would expand a case to a new identity wait for an operator to confirm them.
- Cases flagged for possible misuse may be reviewed by a person before anything leaves the platform.
Enforcement
If we believe this policy has been breached, we may refuse a case, remove results, suspend or close the account, and, where required or appropriate, report the activity to the authorities. We may do so without notice when someone's safety is at risk.
Reporting misuse
If you think Nuculair is being used against you or anyone else, email info@nuculair.com. If you were the subject of an investigation, our Privacy Policy explains how to request access to, correction of or removal of information about you.
If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services first.
